I'm having trouble coming up with a final lineup for this week. In this league we have to play one RB and one WR plus we have two RB/WR slots. From my starters below, I am considering sitting Goodwin (vs MIN) and playing Wilkins (vs CIN). For completeness, Crowder (vs ARI) and Williams (vs KC) are also in play. What do you think? Team #3: - (TD Heavy, 14 Teams): 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF Passing: 4 pts/TD - 5 if >40 yds, 3 pts 300-399 yds, 6 pts 400-499 yds, 10 pts >500 yds. Rushing & Receiving: 6 pts/TD, 9 pits/TD >40 yds, 1 pt 50-99 yds, 3 pts 100-199 yds, 6 pts 200+ >yds Starters: QB - Watson, RBs - Hpward, Kamara, WRs - Kupp, Goodwin TE - Burton, K - Gano, DEF - DEN Bench: QB - Goff, RBs - Clement, Wilkins, WR - Mike Wms., Crowder TE - Kroft, K - McManus, DEF - CHI
Your options are Goodwin vs a top tier pass defense or........ A guy coming of pre-season groin injury with a new QB vs a good defense - Crowder WR WAS A rookie RB you've never seen - Wilkins RB IND A rookie WR you're never seen - Williams WR LAC The projections are very similar for both Crowder and Goodwin, which makes it a toss up. However, human rankings, which is what you're looking for here, have Crowder ahead https://fantasyknuckleheads.com/week-1-fantasy-football-wide-receiver-rankings/
The problem is that most of the rankings I’ve looked at don’t seem to factor in a possible (or perhaps now probable) Mack being out. So it seems Wilkins will be a much better play in that circumstance. But better enough??
I agree the buzzards are circling Wilkins but no one knows for sure how that backfield will play out. If Wilkins gets 15+ touches he could certainly out produce both your flex WR's and a goal line carry wouldn't hurt either.
