I agree...it's not used enough anymore. There have been a lot of games these past two weeks where it was the perfect bootleg opportunity... Go with a naked bootleg to the corner or pass to the tight end...hboy:
Funny thing is, there's more "mobile" QBs now then there were a couple of years ago when that was popular.
yeah but it's SO easy to get sacked or backed up. it was too risky. I would have called GORE not robinson and in between RG and RT as opposed to right up the middle. if you're not running it I'm running the bootleg and giving hill the super green light to run it in.
Anyone wanting proof that Mike Martz smokes crack got it there. That last play call is as awful as it gets. Running in your goal line package was a bad idea in the first play. Keep the D spread, run the draw if you want but keep your options open.
That was not a Martz call at all, it was SIngles all they way. Either a Hilll toss to one corner on a PA VD fade or Bryant the other way, or a qb rollout with Gore paralleleing the goalline and VD/DLOVE running the corner fade with Bryant following , THAT would have been MArtyz. And peobably won. THe oldschool FB dive up the midddle is old school Bears/Singles 100%. Assign blame whare bleame is due. I am so drunck I cant typr ptopr.
Sounds like that was a bad call by Singletary from Walnuts, and a bad call by Martz from Chrisbob. So we now have differing opinions on who called the play.
I agree that had Singletary's stamp on it all the way...send your littlest dude up the middle on a goal line play(leave Gore on the bench)
