Joe Flacco's agent says his client is proving he is a top-five quarterback by his work in the playoffs, reports Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

"I've been the one putting him on a pedestal saying Joe's a top-five, elite quarterback, and he's proving it," agent Joe Linta said. "He's in the rarified air of having already won seven playoff games in his short career. He's really demonstrating that he's one of the top guys out there."

Perhaps, as Flacco sits one step away from the Super Bowl for the second straight season, again with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the way.

Flacco's rookie contract will expire after the season, and the sides have tabled talks until the season is over. If Flacco doesn't reach an agreement with the Ravens, he likely will be given the franchise tag, something that could wreak havoc with the Ravens' cap situation.

is it my imagination or are there supposedly 15 or 20 'top 5, elite' quarterbacks in this league?

apparently some people aren't very good at making lists .................. or they don't watch any other teams play.

I'd take him of course. Just not for Brady money.

He's decent. He wins playoff games, gotta give him that. But he always falls short of the big one. He's probably around 10-15. Not elite, but solid.

If you watch wrestling its like Booker T's top 5 list which is around 15-20 wrestlers long I think every wrestler is in his top 5

yes, i think a convo about whether he is top 10 or top 15 is legit ........ top 5 is ludicrous ....... that means he's bumping out peyton, brees, brady, bigben, or rodgers from the top 5 ............. i'd love to hear that argument

I'd bump Peyton out of the Top-5 for Eli. Based on the fact that Peyton can't perform in the playoffs.

I feel you on that man but Eli over Peyton, no way I'm taking a guy who can't play a consistent season over a guy who has 4 MVP's. The playoffs is a completely different story I don't know what happens in Eli's brain where he's just like "Ooooh now it's time to actually play well."

I'm putting much more weight on the playoffs than the regular season...that's why I would take those guys. Peyton is one of the greatest of all time, no doubt...but playoff time, he struggles. Put Eli and Peyton together and make one and you might have Tom Brady...lol.
