    Backs Get Dunn

The Arizona Diamondbacks added a big bat Monday in their attempt to hold off the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West race.

Arizona acquired Cincinnati Reds outfielder Adam Dunn, who is tied for the major league lead with 32 home runs, for three prospects.

The trade was first reported by KTAR Radio in Phoenix.

He has been all world ever since high school. I think he's already had Tommy John surgery though.

    it was a waiver move.

It was a waiver trade. If a team waives a player and no one picks them up, they can be traded...

They suck. This team is absolutely awful, they are trying to get rid of salary by dumping Griffey and Dunn. I am ok with trading Dunn he is only hitting .230 and strikesout a bunch. He has not improved much at all in his 6-7 years with the Reds in his hitting or his fielding. This team still has a solid young nucleus for next year and now some money to spend on some free agents.

    Which is a shame.
    .235 avg & 40 HRs, 100+ RBI.

If he could hit the ball more often, the guy would be amazing.

I don't even care about his average, we desperately needed a home run hitter after the Dodgers got Manny. Especially since we traded away Carlos Quentin for no one before the season started :cryin09:

I can't stand guys who don't hit for any average at all. Dunn reminds me of Richie Sexson. If he could just hit .270 he''d be in the MVP balloting every year.

    True.
But if he was putting up numbers like that in AZ, he'd still be there :icon_cool:
Either way, things in the NL West just got a lot more interesting
