The Chicago Sun-Times reports that offensive coordinator Ron Turner expects a marked improvement from receiver Devin Hester in 2009. "(Hester) showed it at the end of the season last year. He's had a tremendous offseason. Even before we made the trade for Jay, he was in here working hard...He's just playing so much faster; he's so much more confident." With Jay Cutler at quarterback, he could be in line for a big improvement this season. He certainly has the speed to be a downfield threat, and one that should be one of Cutler's first options in the passing game. Source: RotoTimes.com
lets just hope he can do it in games rather than practice... and not just a deep threat a consitent target for jay to throw to :)
Year three has traditionally been when the WR's start to "get it." This could be a critical year to Hester's development and what direction he heads in 2010. If he doesn't produce or improve, do the Bears go out and try to get WR help and stick Hester back to KR/PR duties...or perhaps the rumors eventually become a reality and the Bears try to trade him?
