Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen cited a source saying the Bengals called to see if Bennett was available as part of the significant offer owner and general manager Jerry Jones talked about on Wednesday. From a Bengals' perspective it makes sense because they lost Reggie Kelly and Ben Utecht to injuries during training camp and starter Daniel Coats has shown he has a hard time catching passes. But from a Cowboys' perspective it made no sense to do this deal.

It would have been a good deal for the Bengals, Bennett would have been give the chance to be the #1 TE and he would do well in that role. In Dallas if an extra blocker is needed he is the first TE that is going to stay in and help out blocking.

Bennett is one of the dumbest players in the NFL, they don't need another ego in that locker room

I forgot the Bengals do not like players with big egos, they want them with big rap sheets.

He would've been a disaster in the Bengals organization...it's probably best for the Bengals that they didn't get him...
