Bill Polian Says Colts DE Dwight Freeney Won't Need Ankle Surgery

    Colts president Bill Polian said Friday that no surgery is expected for defensive end Dwight Freeney, who played in the Super Bowl with a torn ligament in his right ankle. During the second half of the game, Westwood One sideline reporter Mark Malone said that Freeney's ankle had swollen to the point where it was as big as his calf muscle.
