Bills Release DE Marcus Stroud

    The Buffalo Bills have released defensive lineman Marcus Stroud, Mike Florio of reports. The Bills have confirmed the transaction. Acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a pair of picks in the 2008 NFL Draft, Stroud (6-6, 310) has started 45 of the last 48 games for the Bills, totaling 150 tackles and 7.5 quarterbacks. A defensive tackle in a 4-3 defense throughout his career, the 2001 first-round pick out of Georgia moved to defense end when the Bills converted to a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator George Edwards in 2010. Stroud turns 33 this summer, and was due a $1 million roster bonus on top of a $4.5 million base salary in 2011.

    wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in Cleveland. He worked with Jauron and with the switch to the 4-3they need experienced DTs and depth.

    Stroud can play any scheme, but he is a rotational player now. He should get signed for cheap.
