The Green Bay Packers addressed their need of a sturdy running back this offseason when they selected Alabama's Eddie Lacy in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

But on the first drive of the Packers' game Sunday against the Washington Redskins, Lacy was injured after colliding with Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather.

Lacy left the game and was taken to the locker room for further evaluation. While Meriweather was not penalized for the high hit, the league will likely review the play and a fine could be in his near future.

Lacy has been ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion.

so is the commissioner's office when leveling fines which I am sure he will get for both helmet to helmet hits.

How was it not a penalty? Then on the Starks run, Starks lowered his head...penalty?

Hope Lacy wont be out for an extended period of time. The capper was Meriweather giving himself a concussion later in the game.

both SHOULD have been penalties according to current rules. The refs were sleepwalking apparently.
