A noted thoracic surgeon said Browns linebacker Barkevious Mingo's bruised lung is "very, very unusual'' and needs at least two to three weeks to heal, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reporrts. That means Mingo, who remains hospitalized at the Cleveland Clinic at least until Saturday, could miss the final two preseason games -- and possibly even the opener Sept. 8 against Miami. Three weeks would put him back on the field Sept. 5 with only a couple of days to practice for the opener. "I played football through college, and I've never heard of any football player having this,'' said Clark Fuller, Director of Thoracic Surgery at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., who hasn't treated Mingo. "Usually the only people I've treated with this were bullriders. It takes a really big whack to bruise a lung. It's hard to do. You've got to really get hit.'' Source: The Redzone
