Defensive back Elbert Mack is making strides toward being the Buccaneers third cornerback for the 2009 season according to the St. Petersburg Times. The Bucs are looking for a replacement for the veteran Phillip Buchanon, who departed the team via free agency after last season. The second year pro Mack is considered undersized at 5-foot-10, but defensive coordinator Jim Bates thinks that if he polishes his technique he could fit very well in the role.
