What the hell was he thinking???? **********Automerged Doublepost********** FG to end the half 12-6 Bucs.
Damn windows update killed my second half of the game. I guess I'll have to watch the replay tomorrow on NFL Network. Kenny Britt was real good tonight though as was Javon Ringer. Hell....even Vince Young looked (dare I say it?) good.
Our rookies killed it tonight. Britt and TE Jared Cook showed their hands, real impressed with Britt's long gain... holding onto the ball through a big hit. Cook's hands have been so impressive thus far, I would like to see him more with the first team. Javon Ringer had a very impressive 35yd TD run and some others where he made people miss. He developed some great instincts through all those carries at MSU. Really excited about Britt, though. Defensively, Ryan Mouton made a great play jumping a route for six (Jason McCourty did the same last week). McCourty tackled a lot better this week. Neither did much on returns. Gerald McRath was active on special teams. SRW, what do you think about LeRoy Harris at center? He's getting starting minutes with Mawae out but I feel like he's playing very well. I don't see a lot of a drop off physically with him in there. He's a better run blocker than Amano at LG and I would like to see him get some snaps there if Mawae can come back before the season.
I was also impressed with Jared Cook.....they guy looks like he can be everything Ben Troupe was supposed to be and more. I really think that Bo Scaife and Jared Cook together can really open things up for us. I have to wait to see the replay today since my laptop decided to update and restart over and over during the second half. I missed Britt's TD, Ringer's TD and Mouton's INT. I saw them on NFL.com in their highlight package though. Leroy Harris has played well thus far. I think that swapping him and Amano might need to be looked at once Mawae comes back because Amano is the weakest link on the line. BTW.....whoever #61 is at center needs to be cut right now. He botched two shotgun snaps yesterday and one of those plays will live in football follies videos for years to come. The biggest thing that has caught my eye though is how the d-line has still been putting pressure and dominating up front without Haynesworth. I don't know what they pay Jim Washburn but it's more than likely not enough. That man is amazing with what he can get out of d-linemen. Look at all the players who have left Tennessee and not even come close to playing to the same level they did under Washburn....Carlos Hall, Antwan Odom, Travis LaBoy, John Thorton, Robaire Smith, Jevon Kearse....we can go on and on.
britt kicked butt no matter who was throwing it to him and ringer had a nice big gain. i think cook and britt are going to be freaking sick
I hope so What I love is how swarming the defense is. They have always been quick to the ball but it seems like they aren't satisfied unless two, three, four guys are in on each tackle. One play in particular from last night was a sack of Leftwich in the 2nd. I believe we rushed only four and they all played a role in making the tackle. Leftwich kept throwing them off of him but the next Titan would step up and take a shot until they finally got him down. Seems they all play like KVB, which will no doubt mean good things for the year. The only d-lineman we've lost who has gone on to have equal or better success is Juqua Thomas (now Parker) in Philly. Everyone else has been a product of Washburn.
