Matt Leinart's days in Arizona may be numbered. The Arizona Cardinals have been calling around the league trying to trade their former first-round draft pick, FOXSports.com has learned. Several teams have confirmed that they have received calls and e-mails from the Cardinals regarding his services, but it is not yet clear what sort of compensation that Arizona is seeking. Leinart lost his starting quarterback job this preseason to Derek Anderson. After his demotion to the second string, Leinart said, "I think this goes beyond the football field. I've done everything they've asked of me and more – outplayed the competition in training camp and preseason. Obviously there's something that's going on; I don't know what it is." Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt dismissed the idea that he has a problem with Leinart. "I don't know where that comes from," Whisenhunt said. "It's not about whether you like somebody or you don't like somebody. It's more about what you feel is right for the team."

What is with the Cardinals and bubble-head QBs? The only exception I can think of is Kurt Warner. First the hot tub pictures, then the sucking, and now the playing dumb? Matt leinart, if you had any sense of decency, you'd go ahead and retire.

This team was screwed either way...should've entered the McNabb sweepstakes or grabbed Garcia to buy you a year.

McNabb is a fading star that would have cost them too much. he isnt worth what the redskins gave up. If they didnt want Leinart, then thats something they should have addressed at minimum last offseason. At this stage the only answer was Leinart. But Whis wanted to send some message by benching him for an inferior player, who has played terrible in preseason, while Leinart has at least been decent.

Whis royally hecked Arizona. Leinart had every right to complain IMO

NICE. Trade him for a 6th round pick with the Raiders it'll be a top 10 pick with our crap offense. He can be our third after Campbell and Gradkowski. Then move them back to LA!!!

  11. Raiders according to Schefter are interested.

Oakland doesn't need any more experience with crapty QBs. need I invoke the name of JaWalrus?

  14. The Bills, Giants and Raiders have all denied having serious or any interest in Leinart.

Yep he is a goner. 100 bucks say that the Cards will give Warner a call once Anderson can't do the job.

    They'll call Garcia.

  18. Garcia makes no sense for the Cards. Guy has no arm strength. West coast QB only.

I understand why the Raiders and the Bills would want him, but the Giants?

New England or Indianapolis are perfect places for Leinart. Both places have really legendary QBs that can teach him how to be a good QB. The legendary QBs also rarely get injured, so he'd probably see very little playing time outside of preseason.
