I love the extras...that's what makes GIF a little different from anywhere else...but if it had to go, it had to go. No one was complaining two weeks ago, but now everyone wants the whole system set to zero. It's not fair to people that have been here 2, 3, 4 years and have accumulated gifts and vCash to be set to the same as a person that has been here 2, 3, 4 posts or 2, 3, 4 months. I have the most vcash of anyone because I placed my bets so I wouldn't lose. Why wouldn't you? lol... There were no rules against doing that. It was never "frowned" upon until people complained about it. I bet on a lot of events to accumulate the totals I have. If it was a negative thing, it could've been mentioned a long time ago. Regardless, whatever is best for the site, I'm good with. Like I said, I'm here for the football first and foremost.
The xtra things on the site, gifts, vcash, casino, gives people things to do in the off season. I like the site because its just not one dimensional. Its kind of like a sports orientated myspace. IMO. I love talking to people about everything including football. Besides if this place was just football talk it would be like every other site. I would think the more people that visit on a regular basis the better, and you shouldnt limit the site as to make it boring. The server running properly is #1 so I understand, but dont tear down the site and rebuild it vanilla.
Instead of rep you can always give a :qft: or a :foshizzle: or a :word: etc. We have lots of great smilies plus the ability to upload your own.
The rep tramps thread wasnt cheating. Just dont allow people to buy unlimited rep and make it so they can only rep so much.
What lionheart? mentioned about it kind of being a football oriented Myspace is dead on. As far as postwhoring goes I don't know why it has to be called that. I talk to members in threads that aren't related to football in the threads that have nothing to do with football, why is that post whoring? I'm just being an active member of the site. If the mega threads are slowing down the server then we might have to do away with them, but it's nice to have a place where you can just snitch about your day or say how awesome it was. Limiting the places where people can post would be a huge loss to the site but I would still be here for the football talk.
placing bets like you do is stupid and you know it, just cause you dont think its fair because youve poured years into cheating the bet system so you can have the most doesnt really matter. whether anyone said anything about it or not you never thought doing it was stupid? doing things like that makes the vcash worthless and when you skew it so much to make it worthless how is it not fair to make everyone start over where it has a little value?
Just FYI, the Bookies have decided not to allow multiple bets in vBookie events anymore. Too late? Maybe so, that's why I'm all for reseting the vCash totals.

I thought the main purpose of unlimited rep was so you didn't have to rep 10 different people before giving it to someone again. That's why I bought it.
Well, what if everybody had the money Bill Gates has? Do you think everything would cost the same it does now? It's basic economics.
and how is that fair for those who didn't game the system? Not that I really care but that doesn't seem like a fair solution.
