They won it last year and screwed up. This year they won it again and the odds of screwing up are much smaller. I wonder what they will do. Cavs Bucks 76ers To be honest the first 6 players will be great/good and the rest is up in the air. Still a strong draft class, but there is real separation between the first 6
The Cavs have had the first pick 3 of the past four years. Considering their "success" with the previous 2 of 3 picks I only feel sorry for whoever they pick. Unless James opts out of Miami and returns to his roots, the No. 1 pick will rot in Dan Gilbert's hellhole just like the rest. After Embiid, Randle, Parker and Wiggins the rest seem to be a crapshoot developmental project.
it was neato watching the nba "lottery" and not seeing the "lottery" part. anti-climatic. also i understand the idea of a league milking it's season but wouldnt it make more sense to do this AFTER the playoffs are over not during ?
The draft is...what? one week after the finals? It makes sense to make it earlier, so all those stupid trades can have time to happen...
Seems like the larger and more athletic players have become the more the talent pool has shrunk. The media calls is parity, seems more like mediocrity.
Well unlike football the season is pretty long in the NBA (October to June) that leaves 3 months of offseason. They really don't have a choice.
sure they do. in fact it's a better set up then the nfl because there's less off-season. 2 weeks after chanmpionship - lottery 1 month after - free agency 6 weeks later - draft that leaves 1 1/2 months before the next season starts.
1.5 months for rookies to get involved is not enough. You do realize that the preaseason last about 1.5 months.
you do realize the off-season is 4 1/2 months so your whole premise is flawed to begin with. finals end around 6/15 - new season starts end of october. so my point stands, only difference is trhere would be 3months between camps and pre-season for the rookies to get up to par. there's no way around it, the nba is galatically stupid to hold the lottery during their playoffs.
