Well if we were the Raiders then Haley would have busted Chan's jaw a month ago and solved the problem that way.

What an odd time to fire a coordinator.

True Warcry but you'd think that a first year head coach would have better things to worry about right now than running the offense too. You'd think he'd want that experience there. Certainly not that Haley doesn't have the knowledge to run the offense but how many hats do you want to wear in this situation? Like HH said earlier though...wait and hear more details as to why.

Only 2 touchdowns in 3 preseason games probably has something to do with it.

Yeah well Dougerrrr...im sure Haley wasnt going to allow mediocrity to happen for his first year as a Head Coach. And if that means that he has to wear more hats, im sure Haley is going to be able to handle that. And if he felt that his coach there was going to fail him. Then im happy that he is doing what is he feels right for the team. than, just allow the bleeding to continue.

The Chiefs letting him go today is even a dumber move than you'd originally think. If Cassel is going to miss the first couple/few weeks of the season, why wouldn't you keep a guy around that got the most out of Tyler Thigpen, the QB the Chiefs say will replace Cassel...it makes no sense.

If I'm Chan Gailey, I'd call the Cardinals. With Whisenhunt calling the plays, coaches are always looking for an extra pair of "educated" eyes.

Gailey was a big supporter of Tyler Thigpen, i would not be surprised if he was fired due to the Thigpen-Croyle argument

I think Haley already said he was calling the offense...

Haley made a lot of references to the fact that he's ultimately accountable. I believe he realizes the challenges we have personnel-wise and simply decided if he's got the accountability then he wants to call the plays. Gailey probably opted to leave rather than stay in the position with Haley calling plays.

I sure as Hell hope the Cardinals don't take the call from Gailey! I hold Gailey personally responsible for letting Kordell throw away the '97 AFC championship. Not that I liked the Steelers that much, but I HATE John Elway with fire of a thousand suns! Dumbass Gailey decided to show how smart he was by getting away from a the running game and gave Elway the ring as far as I'm concerned. I was a Cowboys fan but when they hired Gailey I divorced the Cowboys.

If Chan Gailey was on fire, I wouldn't even unzip!

Besides Ward, I'm not sure they even have enough input jacks to accomodate a four man OC committee!

From what I read, Gailey is still going to be with the team though, in a different capacity...
