Chiefs Release RB Larry Johnson

Now maybe we can get on with our season and win some freaking games without that crybabies distractions!

 

So I'm curious a bit as to why they just didn't do it last week?

 

Could have been the online petition, the fans are really fed up with him, and with the lack of wins they are feeling the pressure.

 

I highly doubt that the Chiefs are basing their personnel decisions on what the fans want...lol...

 

Who really cares, he's gone.

 

If I had to guess anything they were probably trying to figure out if he would clear waivers or not. If someone claims him then the Chiefs don't have to pay him the 2.5 mill or so. My guess is they have some knowledge that he'll be claimed. I'd be surprised if he cleared waivers.

Another possibility is that they were seeing if they could get away with not activating him for the rest of the year without running afoul of the NFLPA.
