:icon_cheesygrin: Woodhead- 5'7" of quick. Up by 14 keeps Manning from making the last drive for a win. Good game. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Mannings 2nd pick. Now's the time to put this game away. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Manning is a snitch. Up to Brady to put this game away now. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Weird, same score as last year, when the Colts rallied to win the game. Looks like a repeat, because you know Manning is going to bring it home. Screw!
These Colts games are a killer on blood pressure. We just don't have a D that you can count on like in the past.
A win is a win. The D showed up when they had to. Patritos are playing the best ball in the AFC. It's only a matter of time before they pass the Jets as "officially" the best.
Jermaine Cunningham is awesome. Afalius thomas would have been blocked 5 yards downfield on that play. Chung doesn't look 100%, and they still have to do a better job against play action, but the run defense was great and they did a good job of confusing Manning early on. I can't say it was a good defensive effort, but they came through when it mattered most, something that last year's team couldn't do.
We are about a year away from a good Defense. Too many rookies and 2nd year players in the secondary, with not enough QB pressure to help them. With our loaded draft next year, I expect Belichick to address that need. Getting rid of Seymour was really a bad move, even for a number 1, since it is the position hurting us the most.
I'm not sayint that he still isn't good, but is it possible that Peyton is finally starting to show his age a little?
Nope. Too many new receivers he hasn't spent enough time with, leading to route confussion. That's why Brady wanted Branch back. They are like Siameese twins knowing what the other is doing. You don't get that with new guys.
everyone who is all over the patriots' cocks right now needs to listen to top dawg, who should know his team better than you do. there are glaring problems in the new england defense and if the pats offense weren't making their jobs so easy with field position and few turnovers, this team would be nowhere near 8-2. If a team is able to control the pats offense and not give the ball away on offense (as the Jets and Browns did), they are vulnerable because their defense can't do crap to stop people. A team like the Pats, who have at least 4 wins on their resume this season by just letting the other team beat themselves, is not necessarily the type of team that is going to go far in the playoffs because playoff teams rarely beat themselves in the playoffs. their focus and attention is much higher in january than it is in the marathon of the regular season. Having said that, I never count out a team that is heading for the playoffs because a defense can play poorly in the regular season and then suddenly play well in the playoffs, but, right now, the Patriots would not make it through the playoffs with the way their defense is playing.
