After 13 seasons as Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator, legendary coach d**k LeBeau has found a new home in Nashville. LeBeau is expected to be named assistant head coach/defense of the Tennessee Titans, reports Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. The 77-year-old Hall of Famer teamed with Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt as well as defensive coordinator Ray Horton for multiple seasons in Pittsburgh last decade. Although Horton will retain his title, LeBeau will oversee the defense, per Wyatt. That arrangement should be familiar to both coaches. Horton was LeBeau's right-hand man as secondary coach from 2004-2010. The Titans have added impressive brainpower on the defensive side of the ball. Now they need to upgrade the talent level. NFL.com
If Whisenhunt doesn't have a future HOF QB taking the snaps he doesn't have a chance. Even if the Titans averaged giving up only 10 points a game they'd still lose. Maybe Whiz can coax Kevin Kolb out of retirement.
Right after his departure from Pittsburgh he met with Arians and apparently offered pretty much the same position as he got with the Titans. Never did hear why he turned it down.
Well, to be fair, that is a hell of a commute when you're driving 35 in the fast lane with your blinker on the whole way. Because he's old af you see.
