Romo's already getting killed on Facebook. Never mind that he did 2 or 3 scrambles to extend plays to keep the Cowboys as close as they were. As for the defense, the Broncos have been putting the same kind of numbers all season. As I was listening to the Cowboys audio on the radio, Brad Sham, the play by play guy, said he talked to a Lost Wages oddsmaker. He said that the line for the Broncos-Jaguars game next week will start at Broncos by 28.
Romo had been destroying that defense all game. They might as well not have even been there. He freaking torched them non stop. Then, at the end of the game.he has to make just 1 more drive to win the game. He just has to do what he's been doing all day. Yes I know Bryant had a fumble. So what? Romo was still in a position at the end to win it. But he got sacked, he panicked, and he choked. That's why he gets the hate. This game is his entire career in a nutshell. He throws for all these yards, all these touchdowns, looks phenomenal. Then he blew it at the end. He went toe to toe with Peyton Manning and looked just as good. Until the end, when the pressure was all on him. The dude cant handle it. That's all i've ever said. I know I get crap for being a hater, and it doesn't matter. This game shows you everything you need to know about Romo. But cowboys fans will ignore it and point out everything else that went wrong earlier in the game. Disregarding the fact the he had the game in his hands to win in the end, and he blew it.
He had already won the game for them. The defense didn't hold, no reason he should have been in that position.
I don't understand this position. Maybe he shouldn't have been, but he was. When he got the ball back it was basically like it was 0-0 and all he had to do was score one time. But he couldn't.
The game was 48-41 Dallas. The defense needed you to their job and hold the lead. The offense had don't its job by scoring. What's the adage "Defense wins championships/games"
The defender made a hell of a play on the ball. I don't care who you are, you can't assume that's going to happen. I understand your frustrations with people who won't blame Romo any, but you're the polar opposite and it's just as freaking irritating.
Both defenses were eaten alive today. Both QB's put up some great numbers. Omen I have to agree with Steve on this game. Romo looked cool and collected the whole game up untill that last drive. And he flubbed. I hate to say it..but he did. He looked panicked.
That adage is horribly out of date. Offenses win games and championships now. Goodell has made sure of that. The fact still remains that Romo had to make 1 drive, regardless of what Bryant or the defense did or didn't do, and he couldn't do it. I am on the opposite side, because Romo has pushed me there. I've seen this over and over.
Romo out played Manning had more yards more tds both had an INT. Next common dominator def. how many times did we punt 1 time, how many did they punt none. Because our defense couldn't stop them didn't stop them at all they got points eveytimemtheyntpuchednthe ball weather it was a fg or td Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
I'm a Romo hater, but I can't believe that some blame this Cowboys loss on him. If you really think that the difference in the game was Romo's ineffectiveness and not their defense, you need to admit that you don't know crap about football.
I'm not saying he was ineffective. Obviously he was extraordinarily effective. He kept them in the game. But he choked when he had the chance to put it away. That's what he does.
Going against the best regular season QB the NFL has ever seen. You can't divert the fact that Romo needed to be careful with the ball, make decisions like he was all game, and didn't do that. The defense was downright atrocious, but Romo had 2 minutes to get into field goal range and he blew it, like he has done before.
There's something here. Haters, and non haters. There still would have been both wether or not Romo won it or not. There still would be people next week talking crap about Tony, there will be people having his back. The defense in this game did their job. They got a fumble and an interception in a game as to where the team with the ball last would win. It just so happened Tony made his mistake when you simply couldn't make it. He's still the quarterback of the Dallas cowboys. He still went toe for toe with Peyton Manning. There's been four others before him, none of them had came close. He's my quarterback. I got his back.
At the end of the day, I can't fully blame Romo for that interception. He was under pressure, it was already 2nd and 16, and the defender made a hell of a play on the ball. Sure, he could have dumped it down to DeMarco if he had more time, but he didn't have the time to make that throw, and frankly I doubt he even saw DeMarco in time anyway. It's not like DeMarco was one of his top reads. It wasn't a great ending, and it did nothing but fuel the fire. But if you can't see that this game wasn't his fault, and even that pick wasn't entirely his fault, you're blindly freaking hating. Period.
End of the day I'm content with how the offense played, in a game where most people including our own fans had us written off or not even close to competing , we held in there with the best team in football right now If Dallas can play like this every Sunday, and our D can get their crap together, Dallas will surprise many teams IMO Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
