The Falcons drafted linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff has called him a "four down" player. That would denote that he expects him to land a starting spot and play on special teams. The Falcons consider him a weak-side linebacker. Mike Peterson started on the weak side last season, but is versatile enough to mover over to the strong side and replace Stephen Nicholas, who was a first-year starter last season. Either way, the Falcons have competition at the linebacker position and coach Mike Smith considers that healthy. Source: USA Today
