After being used sparingly in his first two seasons in the league, injuries have thrust Falcons RB Jason Snelling into a larger role as a dependable backup and sources say it might lead the Falcons to reassess how they approach RB Jerious Norwood when he becomes a free agent this offseason. Snelling moved up the depth chart with Norwood, who is having difficulty staying healthy after suffering a concussion as well as a hip injury, sidelined and became the starting back after Michael Turner suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 10. The Falcons are all but certain to bring back Snelling when he becomes a restricted free agent in March but while Norwood was considered a top priority to re-sign before the season started, Snelling's development has helped to lower Norwood's stock.
