Been having another good camp... he'll see the field this year, pre-season should be interesting.

If Ramses Barden ever finds a way to take his practices to the games, the Giants will have a remarkable weapon in the red zone. Manning told me Monday that Barden has won him over. He has some Plaxico Burress-like tendencies -- and I'm talking about the good tendencies. Even when he's covered, Barden has a knack for making catches. He's just an enormous target.

Barden was a guy I really had my eye on. IMO he'll be a better WR than Manningham, and I can see him pushing Manningham down the chart this year

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks said it was only a second when he felt pain in his knee, an "ouch" moment as he describes it. Fortunately for the Giants, the pain ended there and the team won't have to suffer through yet another devastating injury. After hyperextending his right knee Tuesday, Nicks missed only two days after leaving the practice field on a cart. He did return to practice Thursday afternoon. "I didn't think there was nothing wrong, but it was something I wanted to get checked out because it was like for that slight second, I felt a little something," Nicks said Thursday. "But I felt like I was fine. "I just came down straight-legged and hyperextended it a little bit. They wanted to check it out just to make sure it was nothing serious because it looked a lot worse." Perhaps the Giants' karma with injuries is actually turning around.

Safety Antrel Rolle intercepted an Eli Manning pass and took it back for a pick-six before delivering a touchdown celebration dance in the end zone. The interception may have never happened if this was a game because the defense smothered Manning.

Shortly before our bus rolled into Albany, Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas fired off a tweet to one of the people aboard it. "You coming to tomorrow's practice or Monday?" @TerrellThomas24 tweeted. "I make sure I got DB's ready to put on a show on how we gone be #1 this yr!" After watching the Giants practice Saturday, it's easy to see why. Thomas is one of three superb Giants cornerbacks, along with Corey Webster and Aaron Ross. Throw in Bruce Johnson and the Giants can play the four-corner defense as well as anyone.

On the first play of his first day of practice with the Giants in a 9-on-7 drill, linebacker Keith Bulluck made his presence felt immediately. For starters, Bulluck was positioning the defense even though he never had played in it, then he was the first defender to get to the football once it was snapped. New York is counting on more of both from Bulluck -- leadership and plays. When New York signed him last month, some wondered how much the 33-year-old linebacker had left, which might help to explain why Bulluck ran over to a reporter at the beginning of Saturday's practice to say, "Got a lot left -- and those other teams will see."

This should be interesting....eace:

New York has enough pass-rushers to make life miserable late in the game for opposing quarterbacks. The Giants' two-minute pass defense has experimented this summer with a formation in which Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora line up at defensive end while Mathias Kiwanuka and first-round pick Jason Pierre-Paul line up at defensive tackle. Few teams will be able to trot out a four-man front like that one.

Things like this should be talked about more.....

If any team has a better dining room setup than the Giants, it hasn't been found yet. The Giants treat their players, and anyone around their organization, with nothing but clbutt. The Giants even allowed one newspaper reporter to bring his two children into the cafe to eat with him. In all my years covering football, I've never seen that. It's the small things that can make a big difference.
