New York Giants defensive tackle Justin Tuck showed up at practice with a face mask that has six horizontal bars as opposed to the four he had on his former helmet according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger. In the Giants' week 2 game against the Eagles, Todd Herremans got his left hand inside Tuck's face mask and shoved Tuck's head back and to the left aggravating his neck injury. “We’re just trying to give people not as much surface to be able to grab my face mask,†Tuck told reporters, adding: “They did it before the neck (injury), but it’s more amplified now.†Tuck admitted that targeting an opponent’s injury is “part of the game and we all do it to some capacity.†Perhaps that’s why he refused to identify Herremans by name and spoke only in generalities when asked about the change in equipment. “When you feel like you have an advantage, you try to exploit it,†he said, “and that’s what teams are trying to do.â€
