I remember the days when Top Dawg and Spanky made me fear Patriots fans (and Bang made me laugh at them). You were one of the few larger than life characters here at GIF when I first joined and like many have said, a true legend of smack talk. Congrats, man, you deserve this!:icon_acool: :dance04:

Congrats, TJ! Despite being a Cowboy fan, you've always been one of my favorite members on the site. It's hard not to appreciate a guy who you can discuss serious football with in the morning, argue in the "Dallas Suck Monkey Balls" thread during the afternoon, and sit back and talk about life with at night. Not to mention all that you do for the site as a mod and bookie. The site wouldn't be the same without you, dude. Congrats.

I remember when I first came here...I had been just banned from the sports forum I had considered "my house" for so long, for a bullcrap admin call. Fez wasn't banned, and I think he still posts there, but that's not the point. I had told to myself that I was done with message boards at that point. Admins were buttholes and if they didn't like you, you were hecked. So I limited myself to go around searching for news, chatting with my buddies about my favorite sports (football, soccer, baseball...in that order), and that would be it.

One good day, in March 2005, I was chatting with Fez, and he sent me a link to a thread of a message board he found two days earlier. "Gridironfans.com"...'sounds cool', I thought to myself, and decided to look around. It took me 10 minutes to decide to register, and the rest is history.

Sweets is absolutely right. I was sold with the uncensored thing. I realized that I can swear, call out and talk crap without consequences at all. Here I could say "Screw The Redskins" and nobody would call me to the principal's office. Here I could say that Jeff Garcia is a happy and he deserves to die from AIDS, and I wouldn't get banned for that. How beautiful is that? I became an active member in no time, and one good day, I realized I had found a new home.

Of course, not everything was that sweet. I had my run-ins with a couple of people, specially back when I was so open about my political views. I still talk about that from time to time, but I decided that the best is to talk football, talk sports, a little postwhoring here and there, and that would be it.

So I'd like to thank Steve and Sweets for creating this place. How I didn't think about this first? Well, maybe an uncensored Football forum run by a mexican college kid wouldn't have had this success, so I understand :icon_cheesygrin:. This place kicks all asses...and I hope that that $1 million offer for it never comes , or at least until life sucks me in and I won't be able to come here as much, but still. You two rock!! Thanks for your words, and you know how I feel about you.

There are many people who I had great talks with...people who I never thought I'd respect...I'm talking about Redskins, Eagles, and Giants fans. Chrisbob taught me that the fact that you suck at choosing teams doesn't mean you don't know about football, I have great respect for this guy. The Philly Twins, Dawk and burnout are awesome too!! I've learned so much from them. I'm sure I'll see you up in this podium next year, burn!! And of course, there's Smeagle, who I have a lot of respect for. We have very similar views...too bad he's from Philly and roots for the Eagles I guess nobody is perfect.

My fellow Cowboys fans are amazing!! Omen (who looks way more Mexican than me :lol) taught me two new languages: the English and Spanish variations of Omenese. Kassie, Inclulbus, ragman, and more recently, Jihad Joe...we lead the Cowboy front of GIF, and it's very special to share thoughts about the NFL's best team with them. I look forward to more years of this.

Ollysj...the admin-turned super mod!! Tough, but fair...reminds me of my boss. Everytime I read his posts, I picture myself that german accent...I love it :icon_cheesygrin:. It's an honor to be in the same class as him, as well as Superbeast, who I had a few run-ins with in the beginning, but once I understood his sense of humor everything went better.

Wait!! Wait!! Don't play the music!! There's one more person I need to thank!! It's important, dammit!!!

I'm talking about the best friend in the world, who I haven't even met in person at all. I'm talking about Mr. Hater himself. My brother in arms. I'm talking about Fez. If it's not for him, I wouldn't be here today. The best part I remember about him are those monday nights during the 2006 seasons when we were working on our Power Rankings column, having a great time making jokes about all the teams. Those were the days. He's not able to do it anymore, although I'm trying to convince him...so you never know.

I think this is it...I'm terribly sorry if I forgot anyone...but every single one of you knows me well enough to know I'm a little bit clueless at times

Congrats, Omen! Recently TJ has taken to the joke of confusing me and Dawk. I found and still find it very ironic, because back when I first came to this site, I often confused you and TJ. Not because you had similar sigs or avatars, but because you were (and still are) both very knowledgeable Cowboys fans who were all over the site. Though in time my confusion between you two disappeared, my respect for you never has. I think it is completely appropriate that you two are being inducted together. Your smart, funny and friendly personality (which is rare not just on a message board, but in real life) is always one of the first things to come to mind when I think of GIF. You truly deserve this.

 

Definitely well deserved. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication.
