I take advantage of MLB.com's live Griffey at-bat look-ins, and sure enough Junior smacks a 3-1 pitch into the right field seats. It's ashame he had to do it in front of only 1,000 fans in Florida, but congratulations to Junior on getting it done. A great milestone in the career of one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? What if he doesn't have than insane amount of injuries he had in his first years with the Reds? Would he be the HR king by now? I guess we'll never know...
He lost about three years of his prime due to injuries. I don't think there's much doubt that he would be the homerun king if those injuries never happened. That said, part of being a great player is durability.
Maybe he should have used the same trainer as the great and powerful Bonds. Seriously.....cool...glad for Junior...I always liked him.
Congrats Griffman. Even though we are on like a 18 year playoff drought still haha (i dont keep up with baseball even though im a reds fan.. NC needs a team..)
Yeah Injuries killed his career, but when healthy, theres few that is better then him. congrats Griff
It wouldn't be possible for them to keep all of those players. Even the Yankees wouldn't be able to afford all of those guys. They would have had to trade some of them away sooner or later.
