From what I've read from fans that were at the game, both Indy and Charger fans. The guy saying crap to Rivers was saying some bad crap. One of them was that he was going to rape his daughter.

Take it for what it's worth.

Uh, apparently he does if he's over there screaming at them. It's obvious he cares very much what they say.

The tunnel and the fans in the stands were two separate incidences. Yeah, going into the locker room you can clearly see him say "I'll be back"....but it's in the finals seconds of the game, he's walking over to the stands, screaming and gesturing at a group of fans, who are pretty much standing there looking at him like he's heckin nuts.

Screaming? Didn't you hear the audio during the game?

I had no opinion of Mr. Rivers until he showed his butt this weekend. Very unprofessional, I hope he gets knocked arournd this weekend against the Pats.

Turn an oblivious eye to it all......whatever.

    Again, not the same incident......

Well, when he's charging to the wall...veins sticking out of his neck, thrusting his finger towards a group of 40-50 year old guys......what would you call it? Whispering? Exuding self-control?

I love how the Chargers are the first one's to cry about "lack of class", yet every chance they get, they wipe their butt with the very word and act like "What? What did I/we do?"

When they said that. Everyone applauded the pats and thought it was funny because it was the pats. Now the Chargers aren't taking peoples crap and dishing it out back everyone is saying it's disrespectful. If you hear the audio he is just telling them he would be back because they're talking crap to him and cheering at the fact that he is hurt. That's pretty classless for fans.

I just wanna say how amusing it is to see that only bolts fans defend him. But hell, of course they will, it's their QB!

I hope that mo fo gets beaten down in a bar for not knowing when to STFU, one of this days, pull a good old Dr Romano.

Oh my freaking GOD. Those are not the same instances. How many times must it be pointed out?

People in other stands boo opposing players all the damn time. What, was Sunday the first time in his life Rivers was ever booed? I find that hard to believe considering what a jackass he comes off as. He got hurt. He walked off the field and was fueling the crowds response to him by the whole "bring it on" attitude. It's not like he was Keith Everett or something, paralyzed on the 50 yard line. Don't make Philip Rivers some kind of martyr here.

The Chargers have Ryan Leaf Jr. on their hands. Granted he's in his fourth year in the league and only his second year as a starter but he's got some maturing to do. You won't see any other QBs around the league getting into shouting matches with fans, especially in the opposing teams stadium.

I know what Rivers meant by he'll be back: the Chargers and Colts meet in 2008. I don't know if it's in Indy in 2008, but if it is, maybe that's what Rivers meant. He is who I thought he is to say something like that. :rollinglaugh:

Seriously, he needs to get smacked now.:icon_frown:

Leaf jr huh? This coming from a bears fan. He's been solid in the 2 seasons he's been the starter. And now all of a sudden he's a nutcase? :icon_eek:

Nope, it's still only 1. Billy Volek won that game at quarterback for the Chargers.

And Viking, when he was screaming "I'll be back" at the fans, it was when he was going to the locker room after he got injured. I don't know what was said to him on the sidelines that made him go ballistic at the end of the game (and got him flipped off by that "classy" Colts fan), but Indy fans had shown their class by booing a 14-year-old New Hampshire girl earlier in the day.

He's been doing this since last year, yet all of a sudden everyone is shocked and furious at him. One off the top of my head was after we beat the Bengals he yelled out to the fans "Did you think it was over?!?". Seriously you guys watch too much ESPN if this is what is pissing you off.

Yea because Rivers didn't do anything in that game. :icon_rolleyes:

He left with the Chargers leading so he did his job, before getting hurt.

I wasn't trying to argue with Boltz... it was something of a nfl-fans inside joke, Boltz knows what I was talking about.

    Cletusaurus YES! YES! YES!

Boltz, I acknowledge that Rivers did indeed leave with the lead. But then Indy came back and retook the lead, followed by Volek leading the winning drive. It's like when a relief pitcher gets the win in baseball. So technically you credit the win to the QB that was in when the winning score was made.

I'm not sure why Rivers got so upset about that, now that I think about it. When that half-breed yelled that at him (if that indeed happen), the "man" was actually referring to his OWN child. Cause that's what Colts fans do.

yup... that was the line up there. And I crossed it.

I don't see anything wrong with what I saw. Fans think buying a ticket gives them the right to say anything they want, which is a hecken joke. I'm suprised there isn't more instances like this, I can't believe some of the crap I've heard spewed at players during games.

I personally can't stand Rivers but your QB (Cutler) has a mouth problem to if memory serves me correctly. Add in the fact that your division rivals and that takes all your credibilty away on the subject. Not saying that's a bad thing either since my views on the Jets or Pats definitely titlt to the negative side.:icon_cheesygrin:

Is that Rivers' fault that the lead was given up? And Volek was driving when Rivers was ready to go, it would be stupid to take Volek out when he was driving for the score. Just because Volek finished the game doesn't really mean he won it.

Personally I kind of like the trash talking Philip does, because it isn't degrading or cussing or anything like that it's all in good fun. Maybe I'm just a homer, and that's fine I can accept that but I don't see how all of this has gotten way blown out of proportion, Philip isn't the first athlete to do this and he won't be the last.

Got fooled by the avatar, I often forget to check the little team icons below them. But, having a Charger avatar... well, isn't it at least your second team or something? Or just your favorite player? Either way, defending your favorite player's team is slightly similar to defending your own...
And if neither is the case, then what is it? Too ashamed to use a Niners avatar?

I'm no butthole, either, I'm hoping he gets taught a lesson. If any, that makes me a GOOD person : D. (At least I didn't hope for him to get SHOT at a bar!)
