Even that argument is a negative for Romo. So if your theory is correct, it's still on Romo for reading the defense wrong. And making a stupid audible and a stupid throw. he was given an option, made the stupid choice, then hecked up the throw.
the more i think about this, all these years that i've been riding garrett (and now callahan) like a 2-dollar tramp about the cowboys' strange play calling, especially late in games, i wonder how many of those 'strange' play calls were actually audibles by Romo. Apparently he has quite a bit of freedom, especially if he is given the opportunity to change the play late in games like that. Makes me wonder.........
