JaMarcus Russell's Work Ethic Continues To Concern The Raiders

The rub is that he hasn't performed on Sundays - flashes of potential but nothing more. It doesn't help that they are parking this porker behind a swiss cheese O-line either.
This article also doesn't mention whether he followed through on the private workouts or hecked off for that two.

 

we drafted the defensive rookie of the year last year bro...everyone knows we draft well...yes maroney hasnt worked out but he was drafted in the late 1st round...the raiders draft early 1st, and it doesn't seem to work out...I admire the fact that you're loyal to your team, but your draft room has been weak...and drafting a QB at 1 historically doesn't have favorable odds...50/50 at best. this year you drafted DHB way to early, and didn't you draft a safety or something in rd 2 that was rated as like a 5th round pick?...Michael Huff is not working out either...I just think Al Davis has lost it.

 

The only place Jamarcus Russell has proven to be a winner is on a star studded LSU team, nowhere in the NFL has he proven likewise.

As for being the best prospect, sure he had the big arm, but it's not like there wasnt signs he might end up as a fat lazy bum..i point you to the combine when he did just that.

 

Didn't you draft a OL in the 2nd round that was late round in Sebastian Vollmer?

lol...man you raiders fans are sensitive, yes he was projected 4th with stock rising...we had a ton of picks and could afford to gamble...all that I'm saying and I think most people outside of Oakland would agree the Raiders have drafted poorly in recent years...it's a fact...my biggest point is that AP or Calvin Johnson were much much safer picks than Jamarcus Russell...but my point is not limited to just that draft...we also reached for Logan Mankins, and it worked out well, but the Patriots have a really good draft history unde Kraft and BB. THe Raiders need to bring in personel who specialize in the draft AL Davis is coo coo for cocoa puffs...he was a great hands on guy at 1 time but not anymore.

 

Motherhecker he has only been starting a year.What do you mean anywhere in the NFL? He did the job against the bucs and texans. If J-rock would been drafted by the Pats or Cowboys people would be salavating at histalents but Bcuz hes a raidah he gets the shaft. Screw the Haters J-rock has the only intangible i want and that is that he is a winner.

 

DP42 dude calm down. DD13 already warned you. Russel is going to have a tough season behind that line. But I said it before, either he is going to show he can be a solid NFL QB on a consistant basis or he is going to regress because of Garcia.

 

You got me there no denying it. Michael Huff is the one not panning out not al davis. I wanted Leinart for the 7th pick but how would that of turned out Al would of gotten criticized for that also becuz Matt hasnt done jack crap. The Point is we have been unlucky we cant all draft Brady in he 6th round and get the next Joe cool. Michael Mitchell is a stud and so is DHB it takes good coaching to make things work. I hope Cable is the guy who can do something with all the Talent we have. I do Know he has the Players attention.

 

I believe he is going to have a breakout year. after starting all last year and he has some damn weapons plus keeping the same head coach from last year will help

DP42, I definately appreciate your passion for your team, and can relate when things arent going well, I lived it with the Pats until Kraft bought the team. I think Al Davis used to have a great football mind, I just don't think he does anymore...IMO its not even just the draft picks, its been the constant coaching changes, which is on AL, and alot of the big name vets he has brought in over the last 5 or 6 years haven't worked out...I'd actually like to see the Raiders do well, I just don't think they will unless Davis lets someone else run operations at this point of his life....like I said man I admire your loyalty to your team though.
