I guess we'll all have to wait for a playoff matchup.

Might be a Kaepernick/Cutler thread at that point...

The fact that it was even up for discussion was embarrassing in the first place. Even the project QB on his own team is better than him.

Kap will be starting next year. At the moment he is not better then smith. How many times has a backup qb got the start because of a injury and shined. And don't give me the b.s. of the bears D. Who exactly have they played. They are a solid D but not as great as people maid them out to be.

Smith was dumped in a second for a second year player who had 1 good game. Game, set, match.

Isn't that what denver did with cutler. They were going to trade him for a 1year wonder and cutler got pissed and demanded a trade.

That was josh mcdaniels having a hard on for Tim tebow. Anyone that knows football can tell you how stupid that was. But they can't tell you that Alex Smith is that much better than Colin kaepernick.

at this point alex is better at reading defenses and making the smart reads. colin is still green. i dont care about the bears game. their defense doesnt try to confuse you. colin will have the better career tho. just needs some time to adjust to the pros.

Im not talking about tebow I'm talking about cassel. He had a good season in NE under McDaniel's and he was willing to trade a potential franchise QB for a rob Johnson type. Coaches always want there own QB. No matter what. Talent alex smith is not better then kap or cutler but i would give the mental edge to Smith. Tebow aka Jesus did not show up in Denver until after cutler was traded.

you can tell us all of this from 1 career start?

why are you not working a high level position with an NFL team because this is a miraculous ability.

after today... it is very clear colin is the MAN. to equal alex all he has to do is win 1 playoff game. he will win playoff games

he scored 17 points against the worst defense in the league hardly a great feat. He looked lost at times but he did have some really nice drives.

    Jury's still out on him

i agree with misfitz. it's still too soon to tell what he really is. right now, colin has the advantage of being an unknown quantity. teams don't have a book on him.

in reality, we need 20 or 30 games out of a qb to truly know what he is.

That's not saying much, even if Alex Smith is susceptible to confidence plummets at the drop of a hat.

How about this? The niners have twice as many wins without Alex Smith in the last 2 weeks than the bears have had in the last 2 years without jay cutler.
