Less then 24 hours after his future was up for debate. Joe Gibbs has resigned from the Redskins as the head coach and team president. He will remain with the Skins as a special adviser to owner Dan Snyder.

Gibbs will talk about his decision at Redskins park at 3PM.

Yeah its been confirmed on Redskins.com now as well.

Doesn;t surprise me TBH i would now be expecting Williams to get the HC job

Synder will overpay Bill Cowher (Hope I typed that right)

Cowher said he wants full control of the team that hires him, which will never get in Washington as long as Snyder stays there. No way Cowher goes to DC.

If he does i hope Cowher is sensible enough to leave the coaches in place.

I can't see the Redskins going for either of their Co-Ordinators due to both having no success in their last attempts (Although Al last attempt was at the Chargers back in 1988 :icon_eek:)

I'm cert they'll go for a big name whatever happens.

Other skins fans i have spoken to have said they wouldnt mind seeing Marty Schottenheimer back in charge. I don't want Snyder to overpay for a big name when he has Saunders / Williams there

:icon_eek: - wasn't expecting this. Maybe he just wants to concentrate on Nascar

Yea i know you did and you hit the nail right on the head. I wouldn't mind seeing Cowher in charge as long as Snyder doesn;t go out splashing the cash just to get him.

Yeah Synder needs to sit back and think it out. Whats best for the Washington Redskins right now instead of big names as always.
