Joe Theismann Says QB Tim Tebow Should've Retired After College Career

Everyone is so caught up on Tebow as a bust yet Matt Leinard was a first round pick that was suppost to be a franchise QB yet he turned out to be a HUGE bust so cut the kid some slack. We still dont know!

The kid has time to work his mechanics and if it comes to worst he can always end up being a RB that can do the wildcat like Ronnie Brown

 

The reason I don't want to see Tebow be a bust is mainly because of his character. I know this guy is going to fight, scratch, claw and practice his way into a starting position somewhere. He'll attempt to make the needed accomodations.

However, I believe you take him along the path that most of these guys have not been taken, and that's the path of letting him sit and learn the system and the offense, learning the speed of the game, and then eventually turn him lose. This would be the only reason I would want to see Jacksonville take him. Garrard is 32, and probably won't be playing more than 4 more seasons (contract runs out in 2014), at that point, you bring in a Tebow, who should be ready to go.

In the meantime you can bring him into the offense a la Troy Smith, except probably in a more extended manner.

 

i wasnt in love with leinart out of usc....but i would hardly call him a huge bust

Come on!!! Really? he was suppose to be the starting QB for the cardinals and ended up getting benched and holding a clip board. The 10th overall pick and you cant put him on the field with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin for what? 3 seasons. He was just a very overrated USC QB. And after Kurt Warner retiring Cardinals are gonna suck once again

 

i'm not sure the guy is going to get a big payday. if he goes in the 4th or 5th round he's going to get paid crap and most likely never take a snap as a qb.

that said i say go for it. if playing in the nfl is his dream then he should enter the nfl.

 

I want the guy to do well in the nfl just cause it would make all the people doubting him look like asses.

 

Theismann needs attention. Should have said Tebow's momma should have aborted him.

 

Hell, a crapload of people have said this about Tebow before now and Theismann feels the need to pile on NOW? You're a day late and a dollar short Joe, shut up already you insignificant boob.
