The name isn't violent at all, unless you are talking to a liberal, then of course anything associated or that can be associated with guns is 'wrong' / 'violent'. Abe Pollin actually didn't change the name due to the pressure of a 'violent' name, but rather because a close friend of his was killed. If that didn't happen I personally believe we would still be the Bullets today. What everyone fails to admit is that there was a HUGE crack problem in Washington D.C during the early 90's, but I guess that wouldn't have had anything to do with the homicide rate, rather the name of a basketball team would. Then again, naming the team after the Ku Klux Klan leader in a predominately black city was probably a better idea than putting more police on the streets to help stop crime.
