There wasn't much fanfare surrounding the offseason acquisition of offensive lineman Daniel Loper. Loper, who defected from Tennessee to follow new Lions head coach Jim Schwartz to Detroit, was a versatile backup for the Titans. "He was the swing man," Schwartz said. "He could back up four different positions, and when he played, he played well." In Detroit, Schwartz wants to give Loper a shot to start at left guard. "He's big, he fits the profile of what we're looking for at the position, and we wanted to give him an opportunity to see if he can be a starter," Schwartz said. Source: mLive.com
