Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan met with the media on Tuesday afternoon and confirmed first-round draft pick Brandon Pettigrew will be a major component in achieving one of those two goals. Linehan was quick to remind us that Pettigrew isn't just a blocker. "That's why Pettigrew was such a unique fit and profile for the position, because he's a blocker and a receiver," Linehan said. "To be an every-down tight end in this league you have to have some special physical qualities as well. "He will be a big factor in our offense whether we're throwing the ball or running."
