HOLY FREAK! Wow listening to this crap on the RADIO! Wow omn the way home. SOOOO SWEET. I love Roy Williams!
Yeah but do you love him enough to give up most of your draft picks? Love him enough to overlook 5 drops a game?:Loco:
The PROs outweight the Cons, and everything will be great once we lock him up to a long term contract.
let me say this to the "happy" cowboys fans -roy williams stats are inflated due to the O he was in -he will never break a tackle -he will drop at least 3 passes a game -he does not command a double team -he isnt a super fast WR he has average speed which means even average CBs or even Ss can cover him easy -he will show up his teammates whenever he gets a chance -he will be pissed that he isnt getting the ball enough -he doesnt listen to coaching have fun fun with him :icon_thumleft:
yawn....dual diva WRs usually equal failure anyway...people are gonna say well how are you gonna cover both guys? well williams is hardly as elite as hes made out to be...
6th Round Picks have little to no value... 3rd rounders are good but definately hit and miss. I don't mind losing those picks. Now, lets look and see what WRs have been drafted between picks 17 and 32 in the past 5 years. 2008: None 2007: Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Craig Davis, Anthony Gonzalez 2006: Santonio Holmes 2005: Matt Jones, Mark Clayton, Roddy White 2004: Michael Jenkins, Rashaun Woords 10 WRs have been drafted between picks 17 and 32 since 2004. Of those 10, the quality ones are White, Holmes, Gonzalez and Bowe. 4 out of 10. Of those 4, which ones would you rather have than Roy Williams? I think you can only make cases for Roddy White and Dwayne Bowe. So, that's 2 out of 10. There is an 80% chance that Roy Williams will be better than anyone we could draft next year.
Yeah, i want roy williams but for a 1st and a 3rd round pick? that seems like something al davis would do!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd take any of them if they keep their mouths shut and go out and give their all for my team. Williams doesn't know how to do that.
Soooo we are left with.. 2009 Draft: 2nd 3rd(Clev) 4th, 4th(Det) 5th, 5th(Tenn) 6th(Mia) 7th, 7th (Det)
Lol, Jerrah must be going senile. A first plus for a receiver that drops over half of the balls thrown at him and has a reputation for being a pain in the ass? Ridiculous. Oh, wait, it's Dallas. Par for the course.
Cool, personally I think they gave way too much for him, but hopefully now I can start getting some fantasy points out of him...:icon_cheesygrin:
6th rounders are the money rounds tons of guys come out of the late rounds a 1st and 3rd round pick in the NFL = 2 future NFL starters
That's a hell of a lot to give up, but we'll have to see if this actually works out the Cowboys way. I sure hope not, obviously. Poor Romo is either going to have them both constantly in his ear, or he's going to get a lot of gifts from them in return for balls their way. :icon_lol:
