The Miami Dolphins lost 2008 overall No.1 pick Jake Long in the offseason but claimed there was no reason to panic over the protection for QB' Ryan Tannehill's blind side. They flirted with obtaining franchised left tackle Branden Albert from the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason but could not agree on compensation so the team has plugged in 2012 second-round pick Jonathan Martin. Martin's performance on the left side during the first week of training camp has led to mass fan panic according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

According to Salguero, Olivier Vernon beat Martin three times for sacks on Thursday, a day after rookie Dion Jordan beat Martin twice for sacks. Martin nonetheless remains confident. He told Salguero, "I think it’s been going pretty well. “You have some good days and some bad days out there. My goal is to try to be consistent against a talented D-line. . . . It’s been challenging but I like it. I like going against the best.â€￾
