well let's see how he handles things now that he isnt on one of the best teams in baseball.

Well, I have to say Bay was huge in his debut.

 

I don't know if I would say "huge". I mean, all he did was score the game-winning run.:icon_eek:

I was very impressed at the welcome Bay got from the Fenway fans. To go from Pittsburgh to there must be a great experience for the guy.

 

I lost a lot of respect for Manny after all of this. Going to the bathroom in the Green Monster is one thing but quitting on your team is more reprehensible than steroiod use in my opinion. At least if you're juicing you're trying.

 

He said it was a little overwhelming but he really enjoyed it.

 

The Dodgers got a good player in Manny, the Red Sox got a good player in Bay, but it looks like the Pirates got four guys named Herb. If I'm a Pirates fan, I'm not very happy right about now.

Maybe he chose the number 99 because of Gretzky?

 

For some reason I doubt that was on his mind. His old number was retired and I think someone else had his second choice, so he probably though "What the hell, I'll go with the highest number there is. Nobody will have that."
