McNabb's Ego An Issue In Vick Lovefest

Jim Kelly missed out on a ring due to a bad kick.

Dan Marino missed out on a ring due to having no running game behind him and a poor defence.

Donovan misses out on a ring because he chokes when it matters, and the fact he gets whiny whenever something goes against him, whether it be the fans, or players who take the spotlight away from him.

I hate to sound like a hater, because the Eagles are a great team and deserved to have been Superbowl champions by now, but I really doubt that will happen if they continue to let McNabb dictate what happens in the team.

2002 NFC Championship Game. 50%Comp and an INT which is returned for a TD.
2003 NFC Championship Game 45%Comp, 3INT's and gets benched in favour of the magnificent Koy Detmer.

Two games I can remember that McNabb was key in killing a great season. Not to mention getting into a fight with TO and chucking up in the Superbowl they do make.

I'm not trying to hate on the Eagles because I hope they do well, I just feel that a key reason why the Eagles haven't won is because McNabb can't keep his cool.

 

Before TO's injury they were 13-1 if i remember correctly. The Pats weren't that much better of a team.

McVomit's 2 INTs cost you the Super Bowl. The Eagles still had a chance to win that game right until the end.

 

I wouldn't deny it. Certainly not the best Patriots team of this decade that's for sure.

And those two INT's, one was on the drive to win/tie the game, and the other was early in the fourth where the Eagles were in FG range, just happens to be the difference in the game.

 

In 2002 and 2003 look at who his receivers were. They were clearly not the best team in football. In the 2004 Super Bowl McNabb threw 3 TDs against the Patriots which is the most they gave up in a game.

McNabb has for sure failed in big situations, but to act like the Eagles would have multiple rings if not for him is ridiculous.

 

mcnabb also got to the superbowl without TO, and with the team he had, I doubt any other QB could have done that. I love how much Eagles hate is on this board, you have to be good to get this much hate.

We all know Vick is an awesome player, Its very true if Vick gets reinstated ( im sure he will) and Mcnabb has a slow start or begins to struggle A. Reid is going to do whats in the best interest for the team, he will put Mcnabb on the bench like he did before and give VICK a shot at Mcnabbs job.... AND WHEN THIS HAPPENDS - its all over for Mcnabb because he wont ever get his job back because VICK will be at 100% knowledge of the entire playbook and be back in football shape and most importantly "reinstated".....

wow, talk about a completely misinformed poster. let me clue you in on some things so you wont look so follish in the future.

2002, eagles running game is running through the bucs defense like a wet paper bag. menawhile the passing game is not doing as well but REID keeps going with the pass which results in 3 and outs for most of the game which kills any chance for the offense and wears the defense down. this while sporting a pathetic wideout group.

yeah all mcnabb's fault.

2003, same freaking situation, we were avaeraging 6.1yrds a carry on the ground against the panthers in a very, very close game. all the while our garbage wideouts were consistantly getting smashed but again, REID abandons the run eventhough our wideouts were on their asses most of the game and not in their spots to catch the ball.

again, all mcnabb's fault right ?

BTW - mcnabb didnt get benched because he was playing lousy, he was frigging injured by a late hit that wasnt called by the refs. get a clue.

2004 super bowl, go watch the tape, like many need to and tell me how you'd react after getting blindsided by richard seymour then teddy brucshi in the same drive but still find a way to throw a TD. again, REID was mainly at fault and hecked that super bowl up.

mcnabb isnt perfect and he is partly at fault for this team's shortcomings but reid is by far the biggest reason.

oh for the record, i do see the vick signing being an issue. the cons far outweigh the pros and [art of the issue is mcnabb is not going to like the vick chants if he slumps.

yeah and with 1:30 left in the 1st half and the eagles on their own 40yrd line right after the pats marched down the field for a touchdown and knowing they had to kick the them to start the 2nd REID decides to run the ball ????? for little or no gains then with 15seconds left called a timeout ???? they couldve easily got in FG range and put three points on the board.

just happened to be the difference in the game.

 

Vick was a waste of a signing and i wont support or follow the Eagles much till he is gone. I couldnt stand him when he was in Atlanta and now even less. Overrated/Overhyped. He lacks talent as a football player and i think the Eagles coulda spent their money elsewhere. :icon_rolleyes:
