Michael Crabtree = J.J. Stokes?

    he had a pretty good year besides the playoffs. dispite how bad we were passing still almost 900 yards. His numbers should get better as alex will have a full off season and the other WRs will be better ether via draft or free agency

    I think the biggest difference is that Stokes was underachieving in a very potent passing offense with an all-time great at QB that gave him every opportunity in the world to be successful, whereas Crabtree is the leading receiver in a run-focused, passing-handicapped offense with a barely acceptable "game manager" throwing him the ball.

    In J.J. Stokes best season, he was 17% of the 49ers passing game. Last season, Crabtree was 27% of their passing game in yards produced.

    Hell, if not for he and V.D., the niners would have NO passing game right now.

    Always hate seeing the talent of a Crabtree going to waste in a system that 's not geared to throwing him (or any other WR) the ball. Let him line up outside a Peyton Manning offense and see what his numbers would do. But because he's in the same division, either bring him in to the Cards or leave the status quo in SF.
