Isnt roy williams good against the run kind of like dawkins was? Dawkins couldent cover anymore either when he got old.
you defintiely are dead on with 2 of them....12-4 is an epic reach though coming off of some dismal seasons, lots a of question marks and a star WR who has quietly aged in the past 3 years putting him well past his prime
one dismal season, one not great season, one alright season, and one great season 1 maybe 2 questional mark so it's not an epic reach
Seriously...who knows? I thought the Steelers would win the North last year but I didn't think they were Super Bowl material. I thought the Browns would be a wild card contender and they stunk. I thought the Ravens would struggle with a rookie qb and aging defense and they played great. I thought the Bengals would be around 8-8 last year and...well... so who knows really?
the following are question marks Chad Johnson, hes motivation, his declining skills, his conditioning. Coles, his fragilness DLine- their underachievingness oline-how does andre smith do? hes the opening day starter at LT, what about the rest of them? palmer-healthy? no one knows for sure run game-Benson? solid, yet unspectacular the bengals have a standout duo of southern cal linebackers, linebackers can only do so much though. jerome simpson is probably a year away from playing any extended time. marvin lewis is a terrible coach, theres a team in pittsburgh with a strangle hold on the divison and that one great season you speak of 4 years ago seems to be a fluke, you will never see that chad johnson again. while i think the ravens are overrated and second place is a strong possibility, 12-4 is highly unlikely, they one got 11-5 in the year everything seemed to bounce their direction (until the playoffs obviously). awful coaching, some of the worst ownership in pro sports. im just not sure how you can be so optimistic with what theyve shown in recent years
I will say this for the Bengals. With Palmer there and a resembalence of a running game they can compete. I don't think Roy Williams will be as bad as he was in Dallas. Change of scenery can rejuvinate people for a while. I am still not sold on the cohesiveness of the clubhouse though and as much as I like Marvin Lewis I'm not sure he can handle the rowdies and then they draft some questionable characters.....just don't know. I think they'll be a talented team that everyone shakes their head at and goes....."They could be good if...."
lol i said the steelers would win the divison and would fail in the playoffs, the bengals were a top 10 pick waiting to happen, the browns would lose at least 10 game and the ravens were probably gonna surprise people....howver i though troy smith would be doing it. i was fairly accurate lol
i understand that it was a huge blow but up until that point the bengals had everything going for them, well carson came back and they lost that swagger they had as an overall team and reverted back to becoming frequent losers. benson is not a beast...thats a joke, he played well ranking the defense is fine, but the dline themselves (particularly inside) are not that great and these young LBs have their work cut out for them coles isnt exactly a guy that cranks out TDs, hes a decent wr but has yet to stay healthy his ankles are made of glass 12-4 is extremely optimistic, that sounds like a baskett prediction
They have yet reverted back to becoming frequent losers. one horrible year does not make them frequent losers me calling Benson a Beast is not a joke, that's just what I like to call him at, he didn't just play well he played great, granted he needs to continue that. the Dline will be fine Coles isn't exactly the guy that does bad. Bengals wouldn't have picked him up if he wasn't going to help them 12-4 is not extremely optimistic, granted I give an extra couple of games more than what I believe they will get but you can't ever not be optimistic about the team you love. I said it before and I'll say it again I won't ever give up on my Bengals
12-4 is really high, considering that Benson was playing for a contract and now that he has it who knows, Smith is going to get whipped at LT and the rest of the o-line is in shambles, and Coles, who I like, if and that is a huge IF he can stay healthy can be solid, but the Bungles lost its best and most consistant offensive weapon with whosyourmama. Beyond that who do they have? COC and Coles? No real threat at TE, and Henry is building up anger towards a 15 yo who says you car needs a wash. I can see 8-8 because of the defense, but the Bungles are playing teams that are better this season than last year.
Benson did nothing 'great' until the last 2 games of the season against 2 of the worst run defenses in the league. Granted he did better than in Chicago but hes still average at best.
Palmer has plenty of weapons Utech, Caldwel, Henry, Ochocinco, Coles, Kelly, Simpson. none of them need to be a threat by themselves but when you have all of them together you have a wide variety of weapons that you won't know where Palmer will go to Benson will do great, haters will be haters I would love someone to try and bring the big man Smith Down lol that will be a tough job
Bring Smith down, no, go around him with quick moves, yes. All those "weapons" aren't much of weapons, and watch Benson because he has his contract now, who knows how hard he will run.
