I think this is garbage. Okay suspensions are perfectly fine but they don't need to go overboard like they've done in protecting the Quarterbacks where their changing the rules of the game. It's just the nature of the beast. People watch football for the big hard hits. People watch nascar for the crashes. People watch hockey for the fights. and etc etc.

I have no problem with suspending players when it's quite blatant. But I really don't think most of these hits are intentional. It's the heat of the moment and you want to to take the quickest route to the player with the ball and make the tackle as quick as possible thus you end up with plays like the one Dunta made.

    Couldn't put it better.

Hard hits are part of football. It's taught at the earliest stages of football. Seperate the receiver from the ball. Players are taught to hit receivers and hit them hard. Helmets collide. It happens Like Roy said, it's the heat of the moment. What's going to happen when receivers start going down and defenders pull up and wind up hitting the receivers in the helmet with a knee or a foot - resulting in a concussion?

You can't have the officials decide on the field whether a hit was intentional or not. Officials need rules to be black and white. The more gray areas/judgement areas in the rules is bad for the game.

Altering the way players hit or taking the "big hit" out of the game is messing with the game of football.

Within 48 hours, the NFL will announce players face suspension for helmet-to-helmet hits effective this Sunday. First time offenders will get the suspension as well...

    I don't think he does.

You should worry more about Hines than James...lol.

  8. Jason Pierre-Paul should more than likely escape suspension....but he certainly will be fined.
