Al Harris is gone but not forgotten in Green Bay. The Packers plan to give a Super Bowl ring to the veteran cornerback who was released in November after nine weeks on the physically unable to perform list. Team president Mark Murphy announced it during the team’s caravan stop in Eau Claire, Wis., according to Kareem Copeland of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Harris, who suffered a torn ACL in November 2009, finished the season as a member of the Miami Dolphins. “He’s been told that he would get a ring,†Harris’ agent Jack Bechta, a founding partner of the National Football Post, said. “I would expect nothing less of the Packers organization. Al was one of their dedicated warriors for many years and over half of the Super Bowl season.†Harris wound up on injured reserve with the Dolphins but at 36 he plans to continue playing in 2011. “He feels great and he’s got range of motion,†Bechta said. “He’s healthy and hungry.†Source: National Football Post
