So I wonder how long before someone finds this conversation I am having with myself here.

 

Here's what I would do:

Step 1: Search for RSS feeds that will supply full content
Step 2: Pump feeds to team forums, but attach a Thread prefix or topic tag to them
Step 3: Create a menu option on the main menu for NFL news by team
Step 4: Link to headline could open source article in a lightbox, with option to comment & create discussion thread that then appears in the listings.
