Who had Gronkowski in week 14 in the pool? That was a nasty hit, but a lot of folks were reporting he would get himself hurt again shortly after he returned to the lineup.

Im done with him. It sucks for him and the pats that he cant stay healthy. Its time to stop counting on him to be a pillar of this offense.

Blame the nfl rules. If the defender goes high he get hefty fine, so dwf went low and ya get this crap. More acl injuries this yr than any other if I'm not mistaken

Probably count more on Hernandez than Gronk...no?

Thats a bullcrap excuse. There's a whole legal middle section there that could be targeted and poses a lot less chance of injuring the tacklee. Going for the legs is a lazy way for a bad tackler to take someone down and now he's just tossing out this excuse to justify his poor technique.

Looking at the video he made no attempt to tackle him in the numbers, he was going for the knees all the way. If the NFL is going to fine headshot then maybe hits like this should also be fined.

    Lol...okay.

If he doesn't dive at the legs to make the tackle, he's not part of that play and Gronk most likely blows by him for the TD.

    Get out the flags ladies.

What bothers me is had no attempt to bring him down with the hands, instead he goes for the knee with the helmet. I don't really care anyway, New England is done in my opinion.

He might not even be part of the play had he not dove...

they talked about this hit on Mike and Mike, Golic and Cris Carter both agreed that hitting Gronk in the mid section would have resulted in a no tackle, that the dude would have bounced off. So this wasn't about poor tackling skills, it was about the dude taking Gronk down the only way possible.

People get hurt all the time in the NFL, it's why they make millions to lay it all on the line. Nothing to see here, move along.

This is the future. We will be seeing more low, legal his. And the League will not outlaw them because the players can't sue for leg injuries (famous last words)

Now that a big name star has been taken out by this kind of hit because of the rules about hitting high, it will now be the topic of many Rules Committee meetings this off-season. Will it change? I don't think so because of the long term effects of brain trauma vs. a reparable injury to the knee.

Big name star yes. But he's "always" injured...so no need for alarm.

He goes for the middle and pops him, he gets flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver. You know that would be called. No flag on this play.
