Predict The 53 Man Roster

Avant is very good at what he does. A slot receiver and 3rd down specialist with a knack at converting first downs. He's not a Pro Bowler or anything, but he's a really good fit with McNabb and this offense.

 

point taken but i still say the lack of production from the TE position is why he gets as many looks as he does and that will change "if" celek keeps progressing.

btw - take a look at dawk's post phigles, that's how a grown up disagrees with another poster's opinion.

 

Jason avant is a lock hes not getting cut hes very good in the slot he makes alot of big 3rd down catches.

 

The lack of a TE affects him somewhat, but not as much as I think you're making it out to be. Slot receivers are still valuable no matter who you have at TE.

 

i hear what you're saying dawk but knowing mcnabb and how he always utilized the TE, when we had a good one, particuarlly on 3rd down and in the redzone i just don't see the slot position being used as much of he gets another TE he feels comfy with. taking 10-15 cathes a year away avant leaves him with around 20 catches.

 

Its really hard to be a probowler in our offense mcnabb spreads the ball so much.

I like how I do the EXACT same thing when I disagree with you about Avant as you did when you disagree with me about Brown and it gets your panties in a twist.

 

I really like celek he was a great redzone threat in the playoffs. Baskett is ok in the redzone hes not a big threat because he does drop the ball alot. Another thing baskett has is he is a deep threat hes tall and has pretty good speed. He has a couple 50+ yard tds.

 

i have no issue with you putting my quote in your sig. none at all. that was never the issue. the issue you have a habit of taking your ball busting too far and that's saying something coming from me. it's well known about you and you have been told by more than me.

Yeah, that's based on an Adam Schefter tweet to Peter King saying he doesn't think it will happen. Not sure if he has inside info or is just guessing.

 

I think the pats are gonna wait and see whos cut and just pick someone up. No biggy though tony curtis did well but it does mess up my roster prediction.

 

Tony Curtis is a very nice #3 TE. He is very athletic and has some upside as a reciever. As of now he is a solid redzone threat. He had 3 TD's as our #3 TE back in 2007
