Question For Fans Of Past Super Bowl Winners

We went 18-1 the year after we "cheated", no asterisk there :)

 

The Patriots never went 18-1 and won a Super Bowl in the 2000's.

They went 17-2 in 2003 and 2004.....probably just an oversight. eace:

 

I forget what its even like to win one.

 

im soooo spoiled....and yes i still snitch hardcore about draft picks, inept coaching and personell moves that make me cringe. 2 in my lifetime is good after all the playoff blunders in my childhood.....but i want them to make it 3 this year :-)

 

i'm better today....but loving these responses....lol

 

I'll give a couple years grace period. I've been spoiled. 6 out of 7 in my lifetime. That one loss to the Cowboys in XXX stings...

 

Maybe this was the kick to the crotch the Saints needed for next year right?

 

Ask me again when we.. uh.. make the playoffs?

I would give you some input but the closes we got was losing to the 49'ers twice *bag*

 

This thread makes me sad

but ive gotten used to the fact that every year we will make the playoffs then fail when we get in there. Sometimes early sometimes late in the playoffs but fail none the less.

After '85 with a team that had looked to have a few year run in it, in '86 we went 14-2, set a new NFL mark for fewest points allowed under DC Vince Tobin calming the fears of Buddy Ryan's departure, saw GB's Charles Martin body slam Jim McMahon out for the season, watched in horror as Ditka went with Doug (not sure which of the 7 dwarfs he was) Flutie, & was stunned as we got pounded in the 1st round by the WC Redskins 27-13.

So how soon do you get over the pain??? As soon as that day comes, you'll be the 1st PM I send out...

 

In the grand scheme of life.....losing in the playoffs isn't a big deal.

 

Boo frickety hoo... shut your pieholes about lossing a playoff game after winning it all. the closest iv seen my Chiefs make it 2 the big 1, is Joe Montana sitting on the sideline after getting his head knocked clean off by the bills in that AFC Championship game.

i remember Bill Simmons wrote an article right after SB XXXVI where he said Patriots fans can't complain about their team for another 7 years. After winning 2 more super bowls I think I'm due to be upset about not winning another one sometime around 2020.
