The Oakland Raiders, trying to address their needs after an 0-2 start, had six players in for workouts Tuesday, Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

As reported yesterday, former Cal defensive end Andre Carter, who had 10 sacks last season for the Patriots, was back in for a second look.

Cornerbacks Darius Butler, Cletis Gordon, Antwaun Molden and Kevin Thomas also were in for a look, starting cornerbacks Ron Bartell and Shawntae Spencer are out with injuries.

Offensive tackle Patrick Brown rounded out the group, starting right tackle Khalif Barnes strained his groin in the loss at Miami on Sunday.

Oakland has an open spot on the roster after waiving Nick Guess, the long-snapper signed to the practice squad last week in case Jon Condo didn't pass his concussion tests, Condo did.
