Former Cal and 49ers defensive end Andre Carter was in Napa on Tuesday for a workout with the Raiders. Carter, 33, had 10 sacks for the Patriots last year but tore his left quadriceps tendon on Dec. 18. “I’ve got to stay low key,†Carter said after his workout. “If it works out, God willing …†Carter has played both defensive end as well as linebacker in 3-4 defensive sets — which the Raiders will use on occasion this season. “We’re shaking all the bushes,†coach Dennis Allen said, “and seeing what falls out, and if we feel like we’ve got something that can help us, we’re going to do it.†Carter has 76 sacks in his career.
