As the Jacksonville Jaguars conduct interviews for various coaching positions, quite a few of the coaches have a connection to new head coach Mike Mularkey. That's no different with former Illinois head coach Ron Zook, who will interview with the Jaguars today for the special teams coach position. Zook most recently was the head coach of the Illinois Fighting Illini after serving as the Florida Gators head coach from 2002 to 2004. Zook has experience in the NFL as a coach however, as he was the Pittsburgh Steelers special teams coordinator from 1996 to 1998. Zook was on the same coaching staff as Mularkey for those seasons when Mularkey was the Steelers tight ends coach, so the two should be familiar with each other.

Funny because when he was head coach at Illinois he coached the special teams and that was the worst unit all year.
